@pokingmonkeys You would be surprised, but the neighbouring countries (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia) are poorer than Thailand. And yet the parents in these countries don’t sell their daughters to the brothel. Blaming the poverty of the Thai for the common FACT that they sell their daughters to the brothel is simply SILLY. It’s a matter of morality. If you have some morality and love your daughters more than money you don’t sell your dauthers to the brothel, however poor you might be!

@john3427 Before you make any sort of assumptions about women selling their daughters to brothels, having lived in thailand for 30 years you should know that thailand is a relatively poor country and in a lot of cases these mothers don’t have much of a choice in order to support their families. You’ve been living in thailand for 30 years and yet you don’t seem to be aware of such an abundant factor of life out there – poverty.
